Russia announced sanctions on Tuesday against President Joe Biden and other top US leaders, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in response to Washington’s punitive measures against Moscow over Ukraine.

The United States, meanwhile, also announced new economic sanctions against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and his wife, as well as individuals and a Russian entity, for corruption and human rights violations, the Treasury said in a statement.
These sanctions target Lukashenko, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and “head of a corrupt government in Belarus, whose patronage network benefits his entourage and his regime,” as well as his wife, the Treasury said.
