“The Russian Football Federation categorically disagrees with the decision of FIFA and Uefa to suspend all Russian teams from participating in international matches indefinitely,” reported the highest authority of Russian football.

“We believe that this decision is contrary to the rules and principles of international competition, as well as sportsmanship. It is clearly discriminatory in nature and harms a large number of athletes, coaches, club employees and national teams and, what is more importantly, to millions of Russian and foreign fans, whose interests should be protected by international sports organizations in the first place,” it added.
“Such actions are dividing the global sporting community, which has always adhered to the principles of equality, mutual respect and independence from politics. We reserve the right to challenge FIFA and UEFA’s decision in accordance with sporting law. international,” concluded the Federation in its letter.

Spartak Moscow’s response
“The decision of Fifa and Uefa, of course, annoyed us, although it was to be expected. Unfortunately, our team’s effort in this Europa League draw is crossed out for reasons that are as far removed from sports as possible,” he said in a statement. Spartak Moscow, the only Russian club still alive in the Europa League, released a statement.
“Spartak has millions of fans not only in Russia, but all over the world. Our successes and failures unite people from dozens of different countries, and even in the most difficult moments, the sport, from the club’s point of view, must build bridges, don’t burn them. Russia, without 40 million for sponsorships
“Uefa has decided to end its association with Gazprom in all competitions this Monday,” the body that governs European football also reported through its Twitter account.
