Russia Putin warns against retaliation against the “aggressive attitude” of the West towards the situation in Ukraine

According to Putin, Russia is ready for “military-technical action.”

Russian president Vladimir Putin warns that Russia is ready for “military-technical action” in response to Western action in the Ukraine conflict.

Russia has recently concentrated its military units near the Ukrainian border, raising concerns about a possible attack on Ukraine.

The United States and EU countries, among others, have warned Russia of the serious consequences if the country invaded Ukraine. EU leaders last week called on Russia to ease the situation.

“If the clearly aggressive attitude of our Western colleagues continues, we will take appropriate military-technical retaliation,” Putin said at a meeting of the Department of Defense today.

Putin said Russia was reacting heavily to “unfriendly” actions and stressed that the country said it had the right to do so.

Russia has denied planning an attack on Ukraine. Putin has accused the United States and the military alliance NATO of inciting tensions.

Last week, Russia made demands to the United States and NATO that NATO should not admit new states or establish new military bases in the territory of the former Soviet republics.

The United States said it would not negotiate European security without its allies and partners.

At the Defense Ministry meeting, Putin, for his part, said he would not rely on U.S. guarantees, even if the country gave such guarantees.
