On March 27, at the head institute of Roscosmos, TsNIIMash and the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia announced the start of work on the creation of the first Russian humanoid robot that would go into outer space.
It is planned that the robot will be a human torso without legs. Meanwhile, the final appearance of the robot is planned to be approved in 2022-2023. It will repeat the movements of the operator, who, in turn, will be on the ISS or in the Mission Control Center. It is also noted that the robot will be able to perform some movements on its own. The first prototype will appear in February 2022.
NPO Androidnaya Tekhnika created the Fedora robot, which went to the ISS on August 22, 2019 on a Soyuz-2.1a rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome. The ship with the robot on board departed from the International Space Station on the evening of September 6. He returned to Earth on September 7th.
