RIA Novosti: Russia opposes the new World Bank fund for Ukraine
Russia did not support the creation of a new World Bank (WB) fund to support Ukraine. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source in the Russian directorate of the organization.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, Russia was the only one who opposed it. However, its share of votes is not enough to block this decision, he noted.
Despite this, as the source said, the WB management promised that funds for the fund would come from donor countries.
Earlier, Reuters reported that the Board of Directors of the World Bank approved the creation of a new financial intermediary fund intended to help Kyiv.
