Russia will suspend diplomatic relations with NATO from next November 1st. This was stated by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, as reported by the Tass news agency, explaining that “the General Secretariat of NATO has already been informed.” From 1 November, therefore, Moscow will suspend the work of its permanent mission to NATO and the Atlantic Alliance in the Russian capital. ” There are no longer the basic conditions to work together, ” Lavrov said.
This is a retaliatory measure after the Atlantic Alliance decided to revoke the accreditation of eight employees of the Russian permanent mission suspecting them of espionage.
