This is the seventh time that the Kremlin courts have punished the instant messaging social network
A Moscow court has imposed on the messaging network Telegram a fine of 4 million rubles (about 37,000 euros) for not removing content that they describe as “unreliable” about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces in the war in Ukraine.
This is the seventh fine that the Russian courts have imposed on Telegram since the beginning of the year for crimes of this type, as reported by the Interfax news agency. In this case, for a crime classified in part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, some of the largest internet portals, such as Facebook – banned in Russia –, Apple, Google, Telegram, Wikipedia or Twitter, have been sanctioned for not complying with the legislation and remove content considered prohibited.
Most of these violations are related to the publication of information against the military offensive that Russia has been carrying out on Ukrainian territory for more than two and a half years.
