According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the expulsion of the diplomats was communicated to the Norwegian ambassador, Rune Resaland, who was summoned today to the Foreign Ministry. Moscow stressed to the diplomat that Oslo’s “unfriendly” policy is seriously damaging bilateral relations.
Likewise, he described as “unfounded” the expulsion of his diplomats from Norway and criticized the military aid provided by the Government of the Nordic country to Ukraine, as well as the collusion with “the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists with the civilian population of Donbas and Ukraine” .
This is a consequence of the surprising revelations of the attacks of the Russian forces on civilians, especially in the town of Bucha, on the outskirts of kyiv.

Russia had previously announced on Tuesday the expulsion of three Swedish diplomats in retaliation for a similar measure taken by Sweden following the Russian military offensive in Ukraine.
“As a reaction, the Russian side has decided to declare three diplomats from the Swedish embassy in Russia persona non grata,” the Russian diplomat added.
Russia “strongly” protested against the expulsion of Russian diplomats in early April and against Stockholm’s military support for the Ukrainian government.

Russia charges against Japan
Guided by the principle of reciprocity, the Russian side demanded that eight Japanese diplomats leave our country by May 10.
Russia will expel eight Japanese diplomats due to a similar measure adopted by Tokyo, The Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday.
The statement adds that all responsibility for this development of events falls on the Japanese government, which “chose to renounce constructive and friendly relations” with Russia.
The Government of Japan announced on April 8 that it will expel eight Russian diplomats from its territory in retaliation for “war crimes” allegedly committed by Russian troops against Ukrainian civilians.
Japan thus followed in the footsteps of countries of the European Union and the United States, which in previous days announced the expulsion of Russian diplomats after images of the massacre attributed to the invading troops in the city of Bucha, north of kyiv, were broadcast.
Moscow accuses Tokyo of joining a “unbridled campaign of slander” orchestrated by the West and taking “unprecedented” measures for current relations between the two countries.
