Senator Klimov described the conference on Ukraine with the phrase “the situation is wild”
Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Andrei Klimov described the conference held in Switzerland on resolving the conflict in Ukraine with the phrase “the situation is wild.” So, in a conversation with Lenta.ru, the senator commented on the refusal of a number of countries to sign a communiqué following the summit.
“There are states that have not figured out what is happening there. We are now simply having a pre-planned forum going on in parallel with the leadership of the parties of the world majority. We had China represented at the highest level and other states, serious people gathered. To be honest, no one remembered this conference. But there were countries that were close to the countries that wavered, and they said so sarcastically, so they arrived and realized that they had fallen, I will try to say literally, into some kind of liquid that was not very correct. And when they realized that they had gotten there, they began to think about what to do next,” the politician shared.
The Lenta.ru interlocutor also said that some of the countries understood everything in advance, so they formed their participation at the level of technical performers in order to monitor the situation, and were not going to sign anything.
In fact, the situation is wild. Please note that no one represents Ukraine, because the man in green cannot be a real leader, he is an impostor. Russia was not invited, but we had no intention of doing so. And how can you discuss something seriously? [Президент США Джо] Biden, as you remember, did not go there; the vice president left. We warned you that going there would be a disgrace to yourself. Even many of those who did not withdraw anything are unhappy with what they were included in there. Overall, the show was a failure.
Earlier, another country withdrew its signature from the communique of the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland. Thus, Rwanda became the third state to do this. Prior to this, Jordan and Iraq withdrew their signatures. In total, 16 countries did not support the communiqué.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry explained that the communiqué is a “living document” that countries can support at any time. Those states that did not participate in the peace summit on Ukraine also have this right. In addition, states have the right to refuse to sign the agreement.
Prior to this, the official representative of the Swiss Foreign Ministry, Valentin Kliva, said that Iraq and Jordan initially did not sign the communiqué following the summit on Ukraine and were included in the list of countries that signed it by mistake.
