Russian bombs hit an art school in the city of Mariupol, where about 400 citizens were sheltering. The statement was given by the city council on its Telegram channel this Sunday (20). Still no information about victims.
According to city officials, the attack destroyed the G12 art school building, leaving people under the rubble. Among those sheltered there were women, children and the elderly.
According to Reuters, local authorities also accuse the Russians of forcibly taking residents across the border. “Last week, several thousand residents of Mariupol were deported to Russian territory,” the city council said via Telegram on Saturday night.
Part of Mariupol’s 400,000 inhabitants have been trapped for almost three weeks without water and electricity, while Russia tries to take control of the city. The aim would be to secure a land corridor for Crimea, annexed in 2014 by the Russians.
