Russia At least four people died in a shooting in a kindergarten in Russia

Two of the dead are children and one is a teacher, news agencies report.

At least four people died in a shooting at a kindergarten in the Ulyanovsk region of Russia on Tuesday. Ulyanovsk is located in the western part of Russia.

News agencies Reuters and AFP report on the matter, relying on local media.

Among the dead are two children and a teacher. The fourth dead is a shooter who committed suicide, local authorities tell AFP.

Ulyanovsk Head of Regional Information Department Dmitri Kamal tells AFP that the exact ages of the children are not yet known, but they are between the ages of 3 and 6.

Local politician and former governor of the region Sergei Morozov said in turn that a young teacher and children born in 2016 and 2018 died in the attack. Another teacher was injured in the attack, Morozov said, according to news agency Ria Novosti.

The shooting may have been due to a “conflict at home,” local police told Tassi, according to AFP.

Police-favored Baza Telegram, meanwhile, said the shooter would have walked into daycare with a double-barreled shotgun, AFP said.
