The Russian government has updated the revision of the list of incomes from which it is allowed to withhold alimony for minor children. Relevant document published on the portal of legal information.
As reported TASS, the new list basically repeats the previous one, adopted back in 1996 (the last amendments to the document were made in 2019).
According to the updated version, alimony is withheld, in particular, from all types of salaries, fees, pensions, scholarships, allowances, allowances (in the case of military personnel and law enforcement officers) and other payments.
However, the new document added clauses on the deduction of alimony from the income of self-employed and from money received as a result of tax deductions.
In September, Izvestia reported that in Russia, starting in 2022, foreign passports may be confiscated from non-payers. This measure can supplement the existing restriction on leaving the country in the presence of debts of 30 thousand rubles or more or alimony debt of 10 thousand rubles. Also, the ban on leaving the country applies to suspects and defendants in criminal cases pending a court verdict.
