The second round of negotiations in Belovezhskaya Pushcha between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine has been completed. The main agenda of the meeting was the exchange of views of the leaders of the two countries after the first round of negotiations, a ceasefire, the creation of humanitarian corridors and a possible truce.
Following the meeting on March 3, the parties summarized the results. Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said that Kyiv had not received the results it had hoped for, so the negotiations would continue in the third round. It will again be held in Belarus at the beginning of next week, Podolyak said.

At the same time, the parties nevertheless agreed to create channels of communication and interaction for the organization of humanitarian corridors with the possibility of a ceasefire.
The parties reached an understanding on the joint provision of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of the civilian population, as well as for the delivery of medicines and food to the places of the most fierce fighting, with the possibility of a temporary ceasefire for the period when the evacuation will be carried out in the sectors where it is carried out
In turn, Vladimir Medinsky, aide to the President of the Russian Federation, who heads the Russian delegation, called such results “significant progress.”
He also said that the parties, in addition to the international humanitarian issue, discussed two other blocks: the military aspect and the issue of a future political settlement.
The Russian Federation calls on civilians who find themselves in this situation to use this humanitarian corridor or do everything possible to stop the hostilities
Another member of the Russian delegation, State Duma deputy Leonid Slutsky, said that the agreements reached would be confirmed in the near future at the highest level. “There is a third, no less important round of negotiations coming up in the coming days. Parliamentary efforts will be required, some agreements will need to be consolidated and then national ratification procedures will be carried out,” the deputy said.
Putin warned about the consequences of delaying negotiations on Ukraine
The first round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place on February 28. The parties agreed to hold the next round in the coming days – it was assumed that a new meeting would be held on March 2. On the scheduled day, the Russian delegation left for Belovezhskaya Pushcha in Belarus, but the Ukrainian side postponed the date of negotiations to March 3.

Later, representatives of Ukraine came up with a proposal to move the meeting place from Belarus to another country. This move was seen as an attempt to drag out the negotiation process. Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted that such behavior by Kyiv could lead to new demands from Moscow.
It was emphasized that the tasks of the special military operation will be fulfilled in any case, and attempts to gain time by dragging out negotiations will only lead to additional demands on Kiev in our negotiating position.
Ukraine vowed not to concede on the issue of territorial integrity
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, after the start of negotiations, said that Kyiv would not yield to Moscow on the issue of territorial integrity. He specified that one of the main topics of the meeting would be the creation of humanitarian corridors.

The Russian delegation was waiting for colleagues from Ukraine in the negotiation room in full force. When the Ukrainian negotiators entered the room, the parties shook hands. The move was seen as a good sign for the atmosphere of a diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
