Russia and Belarus are considering a situation where, for the sake of security, it will be necessary to involve the entire military potential of the two countries. This was stated by the foreign military attache, Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Alexander Fomin, reports RIA News.
He noted that Moscow and Minsk are regularly working out options for using a regional group of forces. In addition, back in December, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on the February exercises.
“There may be such a situation when the forces and means of the Regional Group will not be enough to guarantee the security of the Union State, and we must be ready to strengthen it,” Fomin noted and added that the parties agreed that it would be necessary to involve the entire military potential.
Earlier, Lukashenko said that Russia and Belarus would hold joint exercises in February. “We planned to start the exercises in February. Determine the exact date, inform us so that we are not reproached that we have pulled some troops from the bay, we are almost going to fight,” Lukashenka addressed the Belarusian military.
