799 protesters are currently detained in Russia after arrests during the protests against the mobilization announced by President Vladimir Putin, according to updated data from the independent media project on human rights Ovd-Info. In total, about 2 thousand demonstrators were arrested, most of them released.
Ovd-Info has collected the testimonies of some activists who reported that they were detained in a Moscow police department after they were prevented from making calls and had to hand over their mobile phones. The detainees were fingerprinted and photographed.
In San Pietroburtgo, human rights activist Dinar Idrisov said that those arrested were held all night without protocol. Another activist, Ilya Leshukov, told Ovd-Info that in Kotlas (Arkhangelsk region), security forces arrested Deputy Mayor Anatoly Arseev, who was filming a demonstration.
