His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, blessed the clubs of the Emirate of Sharjah that were able to survive in the ADNOC Professional League for the 2023-2024 season, promising the Kalba Club a stadium on the cold mountain peaks at an altitude of 850 feet above sea level, and the Khor Fakkan Club another stadium at an altitude of 900. His Highness stressed the need for the clubs’ logos to bear the identity of the city to which they belong and to sponsor the people of the Emirate of Sharjah and give them priority. His Highness also revealed the “Sharjah Science Complex” project, which will include 10,000 volumes collected by His Highness himself to showcase heritage, arts and sciences in a distinctive manner.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah said in a phone call via the “Direct Line” program broadcast on Sharjah Radio and Television, “We congratulate the clubs of the Emirate of Sharjah that were able to withstand the ADNOC Professional League, and, God willing, after this steadfastness there will be rewards. Some of them received rewards and some of them are waiting and we are now.” We are working on developing these clubs, as the Kalba Club is being developed greatly, starting with the roads surrounding it and raising the entire area, and this is part of the reward, knowing that I was following the matches of the Kalba Club and I used to call them on the field, and they worked hard and tried, but luck was not on their side, and we wish those who failed in this journey. They must work hard and the dogs are promised, God willing, a playground on the tops of cold mountains at an altitude of 850 feet above sea level, with a temperature difference of about 10 degrees and an atmosphere free of humidity. All of these factors affect the level of play.”
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah added, “The Khor Fakkan Club is located in a hot area full of mountains, so we will build another stadium in the city of Khor Fakkan at an altitude of 900 feet. As for the club logos, the club must be affiliated with the city to which it belongs, starting from its name all the way to paying attention to the city’s heritage and preserving it. This is the best example of This is Al Wusta Channel from Al Dhaid. When we opened the channel, I asked those in charge of it: Is there anything left of their heritage, their songs, and their traditions that the channel did not cover? They replied that everything exists, and we say in that, “Bedouins refused to leave their people.” We preserve them to the extent that if one of the broadcasters violates the dialect? We tell him, “Do not speak in any dialect other than the people of the region. Thank God, Al-Wusta Channel is well-known and has followers from Libya and the Western Sahara in Egypt.” We advise the administrative bodies of the emirate’s clubs to take care of our citizen children and tell them, “Our children have priority.”
Regarding the Sharjah Scientific Complex, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi said, “The role of the complex is clear from its name, ‘Scientific,’ as it includes heritage and arts and displays them in a distinctive manner. Its role differs from the ‘Darah of Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi,’ as it includes documents and many materials such as pictures and others, while the Sharjah Scientific Complex Al-Alamy includes volumes. One volume is one meter high and less than a meter wide. It is placed on a device so that the visitor can sit in the building, which is built in the form of a lounge, and search for everything he wants easily, as there is explanatory writing at the bottom of each panel, and before the visitor leaves the building, he gets a printed copy of the panel he wants. The Sharjah Scientific Complex is located on the right side after the Heritage Institute Square, before the entrance to Al Qasimia University.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah went on to say, “I collected the volumes of the Sharjah Scientific Academy myself, and they numbered 10,000 volumes. I had previously given Egypt 10,000 volumes after the fire at the Egyptian Scientific Complex in Cairo on December 17, 2011. I said to them at the time, ‘I want the fire to be as if it never happened.’ We wish success.” For everyone”.
