The Dutch custom builder Ironwood Motorcycles at the request of Royal Enfield, took a Meteor 350 in hand.
The Meteor 350 has been going fairly fast since its launch at the end of 2020. It has even built up a real cult status, partly because it turns out to be a handy blank canvas to customize. Reason enough for Benelux importer MotoMondo to push a Meteor into the hands of the Amsterdam custom builder with the request to build their ideal Easy Cruiser.
Arjan van den Boom of Ironwood Motorcycles: “Small displacement motorcycles are too often classified as entry-level motorcycles, which is a shame. Our goal was to give the Meteor a touch of our unique Ironwood sauce and a more powerful look by upgrading a number of parts, while at the same time ensuring that the core identity of the Meteor would remain intact.”
“We had a very clear visual identity that we wanted to develop, largely inspired by my love for all things ‘Star Wars’! We decided to blacken many of the parts so that the fantastic ‘Meteor Rain’ paint from Royal Kustom Works would come into its own on the tank. The black fork guards, black supercross handlebars, custom fenders, Continental’s fat thick rubbers and YSS piggyback shocks compliment the look.”
“The CNC machined seat post, our signature bobber floating seat, further adds to the bike’s custom look and the diamond pattern on the seat is all hand finished by Miller Kustom Upholstery. The Biltwell grips, Motogadget front turn signals and the Kellermann 1000DF rear lights, along with the custom piping that breathes through an Akrapovic muffler, results in a beautiful little Urban Cruiser. Every time you start this air-cooled single-cylinder, there’s an erratic growl from the racing exhaust and you’ll want to hit the road. Mission accomplished!” concludes Van den Boom.
The Ironwood Custom Meteor 350 will be on display at the EICMA 2021 in Milan at the end of November.
