The royal biographer claims that Prince Harry struggled with tears during the last official event. About it informs Daily Mirror edition.
In early March 2020, Princes Harry and William and their wives Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton joined Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey. This was the last ceremony that Harry and Meghan attended as senior members of the royal family.
British historian and biographer Robert Lacey, author of The Battle of the Brothers, notes that Harry, unlike his smiling wife, had a gloomy appearance. As one of the eyewitnesses told him, the prince often blinked, and this may indicate that he was holding back tears.
The biographer believes that Harry was upset because of the booklets that were handed out to the participants of the event. They did not contain a word about him and his wife, although they had not yet left the UK and were still performing their duties. “It was a clear and unambiguous display of disdain, in front of everyone’s eyes,” writes Lacey.
Earlier it was reported that Meghan Markle cried before the same event. Omid Scobie, one of the authors of the book “Finding Freedom” about Harry and Meghan’s life, claims that she hugged her employees in tears, realizing that after a visit to Westminster Abbey, an important period in her life will end and she will never again stand in Buckingham Palace as a senior member of the royal family.
