“The separation of the careers of the magistrates is fundamental”
Gianfranco Rotondideputy of Forza Italia, is the host of the new webinar of the cycle organized by the lawyer Luca Favini, of the Ghedini-Longo studio, in collaboration with affaritaliani.it.
There are several points touched upon in the video interview, starting with the upcoming ones referendum on Justice. Rotondi reiterated his support for the yes, to “reaffirm the principle of the separation of careers and therefore interrupt the osmosis between the prosecuting and judging judiciary”. In fact, Rotondi argues that “even the judges are human and therefore they end up feeling closer to the prosecutor than to the defense lawyer”. A position that, according to him, represents the trait d’union between his political present, or Forza Italia, and his past, told in the recent book: “The DC variant. History of a party that no longer exists and of one that does not exist yet ” (Solferino).
Rotondi explains that he retraced a path that was interrupted with the decision of Mino Martinazzoli, which in 1993 sanctioned the dissolution of the Christian Democrats and the birth of the Popular Party. However, Rotondi emphasizes that “the entire ruling class of the country” comes from the DC and also the leaders of the Democratic Party, party proposing the Ddl Zanon which the forerunner expressed his views.
