Valentino satisfied after FP2: “I’m happy and I like the track, but tomorrow we’ll have to file 1 second to stay in the top ten”
It is a smiling Valentino Rossi that emerges from the first day of Free Practice of the British GP at Silverstone. His tenth time in FP2 is an encouraging sign for the nine-time Yamaha SRT world champion: “Already in the morning I felt good, but in the afternoon it went even better”, Valentino’s words.
“With the soft tire I set a good time – continues Valentino -, I was also one of the few to try the hard one behind, but we are at the limit and with the average we have to understand if we can finish the GP, overall a Good weather and I’m satisfied. In the first part of the season I expected to do better on some tracks but we had technical problems, while here I think we got off to a good start. “
Remove 1 second
However, staying in the top ten will not be easy, according to Valentino. “I would like to stay in the top-10, but I think that to make it tomorrow, in case of dry weather, at least 1 must be removed” because higher temperatures are expected and the track will naturally be faster – analyzes Rossi -. Let’s see, the fact remains that riding at Silverstone is a pleasure because it is one of the few tracks that has been improved for the better because it is wide, fast with good grip and has the right dimensions for MotoGP. “
