The refusal to issue an American visa to cosmonaut Nikolai Chuba may threaten the security of the International Space Station (ISS). Roskosmos named the possible consequences of the incident with the United States. This is reported TASS.
“The situation that has arisen calls into question the very safety of the Russian cosmonaut’s stay on the ISS and the safety of the American segment of the station due to the unpreparedness of the Russian cosmonaut in the event of an emergency,” the state corporation said.
They also clarified that “there is a question at least with a change in the training schedule for Nikolai Chub for the upcoming flight in the spring of 2023.” “Without lectures and practical exercises on the layout of the American segment, getting acquainted with the operation of its systems, understanding the interaction between the systems of the American and Russian segments, as well as taking a course on actions in an emergency, it is basically impossible to fly into space,” the state corporation noted.
