Former football player Ronaldinho Gaúcho rang, on Wednesday (9.Oct.2024), the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, in the United States. He became shareholder from Greenville Triumph, a USL League One club, equivalent to the 3rd division in the USA. On social media, internet users spoke of “another random ride” by the former player.
“I am so honored to be here on the podium and ring the Closing Bell at the NYSE [New York Stock Exchange, a Bolsa de Nova York]. It was great to talk to you and see up close how such an important place in the financial world works.”, he wrote on Instagram.

In a statement, Greenville Triumph said that Ronaldinho Gaúcho’s investment in the club “is a powerful endorsement of what the organization has built over the past 6 years and elevates the standing of Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty within the football community”. Greenville Liberty is the club’s women’s soccer team.
“With the global spotlight on North America AND the 2026 World Cup, with Atlanta serving as the host city, Ronaldinho’s involvement is expected to bring international recognition to the Triumph and Liberty teams, as well as North America. South Carolina”, the text reads.
