The images show how Romário maintains his technical quality, despite having been away from the playing fields for years, and surprises the other members of the team, especially the goalkeepers.
The Brazilian idol intends to play just a few minutes with América in the Carioca second division championshipwhich begins in May.
“As for training, I am very tired. The stretcher will arrive shortly to pick me up (…) I think that, in general, I have been able to run a little,” he said in statements reported by the Ge portal.
In a recent interview with the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, he stated that he will have the “fantastic” opportunity to play some professional matches alongside his son Romarinho, and that, “unfortunately, at this moment he cannot promise goals.”
His last game as a professional was in 2009 precisely as a player for América and at the request of his father, who asked him to reinforce the team that was then competing for access to the first division of the Carioca Championship, the tournament that brings together the best clubs in the state of Rio of Janeiro.
