The Russian state corporation Roskosmos is taking satellite images of the areas where the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass is being carried out, but will not make them public until the operation is completed. This was announced on July 2 by the CEO of the state corporation Dmitry Rogozin.
“We will not publish anything until the president announces the completion of this operation,” Rogozin told the TV channel. “Russia 24”.
He also clarified that the Roskosmos vehicles are filming the areas of the special operation around the clock.
On June 28, Roskosmos published satellite images ahead of the NATO summit in Madrid, which showed the locations of the summit and the exact coordinates of the so-called decision-making centers in the West. As indicated in the corporation, a summit is opening in the capital of Spain, “at which the countries of the West will declare Russia their worst enemy.”
On the same day, Rogozin said that the NATO leadership receives impressive amounts of data from private satellite operators, which are later transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (UAF). Rogozin stressed that there was “not the slightest doubt” about the authenticity of the information. It is noted that thanks to the transmitted footage from satellites, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to strike at an oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov Region, where fragments of two drones were found on June 22.
On June 29, a spokesman for the state corporation said that the Roscosmos website was subjected to a severe DDoS attack in connection with the publication of images with the coordinates of the NATO summit venues in Madrid, but the attack was successfully repelled by experts and did not bring any results.
On February 24, Russia launched an operation to protect civilians in the Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation included the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the background of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the evacuation of residents to the Russian Federation, and on February 21, Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DPR and LPR.
