A medium-range ballistic missile launched by North Korea on Sunday, January 30, exceeded the speed of sound by 16 times. The agency writes “Yonhap” citing sources familiar with the situation.
Its maximum speed was 16 Mach numbers. Presumably, we are talking about the Hwaseong-12 missile, which the DPRK authorities also tested in 2017.
The launched rocket flew 800 kilometers with a maximum altitude of two thousand kilometers and fell outside the exclusive zone of Japan, told previously in the Japanese cabinet. According to preliminary data, this is the seventh DPRK weapons test this year.
In addition, Pyongyang wants to “continue to develop powerful warheads” and is testing the operation of a long-range cruise missile and a guided surface-to-surface missile.
