After returning to the Viminale, Roberto Maroni also returns to the stage with his band: after an absence of ten years from the scene, on December 29th, at the 33rd edition of the Porretta Soul festival, on the Bolognese Apennines, it is scheduled a concert by District 51 & The Capric Horns, with the former Minister of the Interior and former President of the Lombardy Region at the keyboard. Maroni and his band are very close to Porretta where they made their debut and have performed many times. To report the news is the Ansa agency.
Here, in the mountains between Bologna and Pistoia, they also held their last concert, in 2011. For a short period, in Porretta, Maroni was also a municipal councilor. He will share the stage with Grammy winner Bobby Rush, Curtis Salgado, the Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra, Allan Harris Kate’s Soulfood and other exponents of the international soul scene.
The first concert of Maroni’s band dates back to the second edition of the festival in 1989. “The choice fell on them – says the artistic director Graziano Uliani – for musical and not political merits, precisely because the group expressed a torrid rhythm & blues, even if at the beginning he did the Bruce Springsteen repertoire “
