Not just pedestrians. In fact, Asaps has also released the updated report regarding the cyclists road victims. The numbers are, as expected, lower than those relating to pedestrians, although remaining high to say the least: 52 cyclists have been killed on Italian roads since the beginning of the year, 12 of which in the first three weeks of April alone. Of all the cyclists who have died since the beginning of the year, 48 were men and 4 women, while 29, regardless of gender, they were over 65 years old.

The data relating to road prairie cases continues to be of concern, unfortunately still far from zero. At a territorial level, no region has yet reached double figures of cyclists who died in the first almost four months of the year: the Veneto leads this negative ranking with 9 victims, followed by Lazio at 8 and Emilia-Romagna at 7. Campania it is the first southern region to appear in the ranking: it is fourth, with 5 deaths overall.
Cyclists who are road victims
Asaps itself describes the trend we are experiencing in 2024: “In February there were 7 deaths. In the month of January there were 18 deaths of non-motorised two-wheel users, since it's worrying workers looked at the last six years, in which fewer deaths occurred in the entire month of January, 10 in 2023, 11 in 2022, 15 in 2021, 11 in 2020, 10 in 2019 and 12 in 2018. 15 deaths in March, 12 cases in the first three weeks of April: there were 14 last year, but in the whole month”.
