The Robert Koch Institute has again registered a new high in new infections with the corona virus in Germany. The seven-day incidence also rises to over 400. A new record.
Berlin – The number of new corona infections transmitted to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day has once again reached a new high.
In addition, according to the RKI, the nationwide seven-day incidence rose to over 400 for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic on Wednesday morning. The institute stated the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week at 404.5. For comparison: the previous day the value was 399.8, a week ago it was 319.5 (previous month: 106.3). The health authorities in Germany reported 66,884 new corona infections to the RKI within one day – compared to 52,826 infections exactly one week ago. This is evident from the figures that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:05 a.m.
335 deaths within 24 hours
According to the new information, 335 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 294 deaths. The RKI has counted 5,497,795 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not recognized.
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was given by the RKI on Tuesday at 5.60 (Monday: 5.28). The value plays an essential role in assessing the occurrence of the infection. If limit values 3, 6 and 9 are exceeded in the federal states, stricter measures to combat the pandemic can be imposed there.
The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 4,712,900. The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 99,768. dpa
