SAt least since the outcome of the votes in Iowa's neighborhood meetings it has been clear: the world must come to terms with the possibility that Donald Trump will move into the White House again. In the Republican Party's nomination contest, Trump is well ahead of his opponents in the polls. In the presidential election campaign he would be confronted with the fact that the majority of Americans are hostile to him. However, President Joe Biden is even more unpopular.
It would be interesting to know how the leaders of the American economy will respond to another Trump presidency. Extremely reserved, one might assume. However, based on the experiences of the past few years, they will want to avoid being drawn into the spreading culture wars. They have in mind the fate of short-term Disney boss Bob Chapek, who, under pressure from activists, opposed an illiberal school law in Florida and drew the ire of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
