Covid-19 facemasks of the PFF2 type offer almost 100% protection against the coronavirus, according to a study by the Max Planck Institute in Germany, released by Deutsche Welle.
Anyone who wears the mask and has contact with an infected person in an enclosed space for 20 minutes has only a 0.1% chance of becoming infected. Among those fully vaccinated, the risk of contracting the disease is even lower.

However, it is essential to use the mask correctly: adjust the nose clip correctly to ensure a seal; pass one of the rubber bands above the ear and the other underneath; tightly seal the mask on the chin.
The risk of contracting Covid-19 from misuse of the mask is 4%, according to a study by the National Academy of Sciences of the United States published in the scientific journal PNAS.
If used correctly, PFF2 masks protect up to 75 times more than surgical masks.
