Doctors Mariano de Prado and Pedro Luis Ripoll successfully treated an injury to the left foot of soccer player Djibril Sow, 27 years old and a Sevilla midfielder. The Swiss international, who underwent surgery at the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid, suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his left foot during training last week.
The operation consisted of osteosynthesis with a screw and stem cells. Djibril Sow spent Tuesday night in the hospital and was discharged on Wednesday after the relevant check-up. The estimated recovery prognosis, according to doctors De Prado and Ripoll, will be between eight and ten weeks, depending on the player's evolution. Saw misses the rest of the league and the Euro Cup.
Sow arrived at Sevilla last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt, and the specter of injuries does not stop haunting him. He landed with discomfort in his Achilles tendon, so he was not in the most optimal condition during the first days. However, he was forced to play and force due to the multitude of absentees that the Sevilla squad had. And when he was finally acquiring some regularity with Quique Sánchez Flores on the bench, he was injured again during training and will no longer be available until the preseason of the 2024-25 season.
