The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro is investigating a suspected poisoning of employees of a health post in the municipality. The case took place last Friday, 30. All victims are doing well. Ten employees of the Sílvio Barbosa Municipal Health Center, located in Senador Camará (western Rio de Janeiro), felt unwell and needed medical care.
According to the municipal health department, most recovered soon after the service – the folder did not inform what the measures were and the medical diagnosis. One employee remained feeling unwell and on Saturday, 31, he went to the Rocha Faria Municipal Hospital, in Campo Grande (western zone), where he received care and was discharged on the same day.
One suspicion is that the coffee offered to employees may have been poisoned. What was left of the product consumed by the servers that failed was forwarded to the expertise. The health post offers vaccines against covid-19, but there is no evidence that this could have been a reason for possible revenge against the employees.
The case was registered with the 34th DP (Bangu), responsible for the investigation. Health unit employees have already been called to testify at the police station. The Center for Strategic Information and Response to Health Surveillance of Rio de Janeiro (CIEVS-Rio) is following the case.
