Over the past decade, Formula 1 has known significant sponsors who have partnered with various teams. Specifically, the sector that came closest to the Circus was that of energy drinks, as demonstrated by the most famous case of Red Bull and Monster Energy, the latter linked to Mercedes. In addition to these two realities, yet another boasts a past in F1, albeit full of controversies: Rich Energy.
In addition to the failed attempt to acquire Force India, which instead ended up in the hands of Lawrence Stroll, the British company signed a sponsorship deal in 2019 with the Haas, only to terminate it even before the end of the season due to the lack of competitiveness of the team, which for this reason lost 30 million euros in sponsorships. Regardless, Rich Energy has always remarked on a certain commercial rivalry with the Red Bullas demonstrated by the recent message posted on their profile Twitter inherent to budget overrun cap implemented by its competitor.
An easy decision for the FIA now. It is imperative that the integrity of the great sport of Formula One is maintained. Congratulations @LewisHamilton & @ MercedesAMGF1 on a well deserved world title in 2021 # F1 pic.twitter.com/cGzuhmkGcq

The violation, officially recognized by the FIA on 10 October, has been deemed “Minimum” by the Federation itself, with the latter having not yet elaborated the sanction against the Anglo-Austrian team. However, the news was enough to spark a controversial reaction from Rich Energy, who expressed its verdict as follows: “An easy decision for the FIA. The integrity of Formula 1 must be safeguarded. Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton on his well-deserved 2021 champion title“.
