Team play at Red Bull
It’s just one point, but in this championship every detail can make the difference: it’s the fastest lap with which Daniel Ricciardo took the +1 lead from Lando Norris and allowed Max Verstappen to be +52 on the Briton.
The episode is a clear example of collaboration between two teams – Red Bull and RB – belonging to the same universe, in which – despite the superficial declarations of the protagonists – there is a team that in difficult situations asks for a hand from the “little sister”. And of course the others are not just watching: the McLaren CEO Zak Brown, for example, has always criticized the co-presence in the championship of two teams with the same ownership, an example that has no other parallels in sports at the highest levels.
Brown’s words
After today’s episode, the Californian returned to the charge: “I will ask questions about this, teams need to operate independently on a sporting level. In this case there was a Serie A team and a Serie B team, and it is an example of why I was concerned about the co-ownership situation“, these are the words reported by colleague Chris Medland.
As of today, the team play of the Red Bull universe has changed little in the drivers’ world championship, but it could be very useful if it goes to the last race, remembering that Super Max will probably prevail with equal points (having seven wins against three).
