The Grand Mufti said that representatives of all religions will be able to pray in mobile temples
Representatives of all traditional religions will be able to pray in Russian military churches equipped on the basis of UAZ Patriot vehicles. Details about their work uncovered Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin in an interview with Govorit Moskva.
He specified that believers would not pray in the car itself. “These are mobile sleeping places for regimental clergy, whether they are Muslims, Orthodox or Buddhists,” Tadjuddin said.
In case of rain, capacious tents with prayer accessories will be erected next to the cars, depending on the religious affiliation of the servicemen. “Pretty roomy. [палатки], there are prayer rugs. The Orthodox have everything that is supposed to be in an Orthodox church,” Tadzhuddin emphasized. “No discrimination or anything else, because everyone is well aware that God is one and the same for all.”
Mobile field temples based on UAZ Patriot vehicles for believing soldiers were presented as part of the Army-2022 forum. According to the head of the department for interaction with religious associations of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, Oleg Veselkov, the complexes are being created taking into account the needs of the military in worship and religious rites. Their development is carried out by the design bureau “Mobile complexes and systems”.
Earlier, the State Duma announced the need to raise the salaries of military priests. According to deputy Sergei Gavrilov, about 200 military priests serve in the Russian army, thanks to whose work the number of religious servicemen is increasing. “Staff priests hold the position of assistant commander for work with religious servicemen,” he said. “The salary level for this position is set in accordance with the order of the Minister of Defense … in the amount of 13,770 rubles.” Gavrilov stressed that dioceses can also encourage military priests.
