Southern Finland The Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI) has decided to extend the restrictions on gatherings in Kanta-Häme and South Karelia until the end of February.

The decisions extend the current restrictions on public events and general meetings.

The decisions will enter into force on 24 January. The decision concerning the area of ​​the South Karelia Hospital District is valid until 20 February and the decision concerning the area of ​​Kanta-Häme until 23 February.

Kanta-Häme therefore, there is still a restriction on gatherings in the hospital district, which allows for public events and general meetings of up to 10 people indoors and up to 50 people outdoors.

In the territory of South Karelia, there is a restriction according to which public events of up to 50 people can be held indoors. The number of participants in outdoor events has not been limited by a decision of the Regional State Administrative Agency.

The decisions of the Regional State Administrative Agency do not apply to private events.

According to Avi’s release, the epidemic situation continues to be difficult in Kanta-Häme, according to the hospital district’s assessment, and threatens the carrying capacity of health care. The situation in the hospital district of South Karelia is not as difficult, but it is estimated that it is still necessary to continue the restrictions on assembly in the region.

“We are, of course, closely monitoring the regional epidemic situation and possible changes in the national control of epidemic control measures. For our part, we also strive to communicate proactively if there are changes to our decisions. ”

Kanta-Häme The decision of the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland, which has ordered the closure of certain sports, leisure and recreation facilities in accordance with section 58 g of the Communicable Diseases Act, is also in force in the area.

The decision is valid until January 26. The continuation is currently being evaluated, and the Regional State Administrative Agency will announce a possible extension decision and its content at the beginning of next week.

In addition, in Kanta-Häme and South Karelia, as elsewhere in the region of Southern Finland, the decisions of the Regional State Administrative Agency concerning the safe use of premises are in force, which oblige the prevention of the risk of infection caused by close contacts.

In Kanta-Häme, the decision is valid until 31 January. Following the extension decision made by Avi today in the territory of the South Karelia Hospital District, the decision is valid until February 20.
