Restrictions Prime Minister Marin: Corona measures can be tightened even without an emergency brake: “I would consider this a priority”

The government will discuss possible new corona measures on Tuesday.

Prime minister Sanna Marin (sd) says that restrictive measures against the coronavirus can be tightened even without the introduction of a so-called emergency brake mechanism. He also says he considers this a priority. Even tougher measures can still be taken.

Marin commented on the discussion of the emergency brake to HS in a short message on Saturday.

“The Sote Ministerial Working Group is preparing measures for the government to curb the epidemic. The government will discuss the proposals in its negotiations on Tuesday. It is possible for the government and regional authorities to step up their efforts even without the introduction of an emergency braking mechanism. I would consider this a priority, ”Marin wrote.

“Even tougher measures can be taken if necessary,” he continued.

Minister of Family and Basic Services Krista Kiuru (sd) said in an interview with HS on Saturdaythat the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has on Friday proposed to the SOTE Ministerial Working Group that the government decide on a timetable for the introduction of the emergency brake in the government’s negotiations next week.

Kiuru suggested that restrictive measures need to be significantly increased.

The story is being updated.
