Restaurants Government decides: Without coron passport, restaurants must stop serving alcohol as early as 5pm in epidemic areas

The tightening of opening hours will take effect on Sunday.

Their restaurants that do not require a corona passport from their customers will have to stop drinking alcohol as early as 5 pm in areas where the corona epidemic is spreading. They must close their doors completely at 6 pm and they can open from 5 am. The government decided on the matter at its Friday session.

The reason is the deteriorating coronary situation. Minister of Family and Basic Services Krista Kiuru (sd) said Thursday that restrictions are necessary to curb the epidemic.

Restaurants can be completely exempted from the restriction if they require a corona passport from their guests.

Opening hours the tightening will take effect on Sunday.

It does not apply to fast food outlets, cafes and other non-alcoholic restaurants. They can be open from 5 am to 1 pm without a corona passport.

The tightening of opening hours was proposed to the government by its SOTO ministerial group on Thursday.

The restrictions apply to the regions of Uusimaa, Southwest Finland, Satakunta, Kanta-Häme, Pirkanmaa, Päijät-Häme, Kymenlaakso, Ostrobothnia, Southern Ostrobothnia, Central Ostrobothnia and Northern Ostrobothnia, as well as the Hospital District of Western Ostrobothnia.
