A Corona summit is on the program on Thursday. Stricter corona measures are being decided. A draft resolution provides first impressions.
Berlin – Two days after the Corona summit, the next political crisis meeting is on the agenda on Thursday (December 2). The Executive Chancellor Angela Merkel * (CDU) and her designated successor Olaf Scholz * meet with the 16 heads of government of the federal states. A tightening of the measures is considered likely.
What can people expect in the last few weeks of the year? Various models are being discussed, from 2G to mandatory vaccination. the Picture newspaper now reports on a first draft resolution.
Corona summit: 2G, contact restrictions, mandatory vaccination – these rules are planned
Accordingly, there should be a 2G obligation in retail, from which only the shops for daily needs (e.g. supermarkets) should be exempted. This rule should apply irrespective of the incidence. That means: The measures apply in Saxony (incidence of 1209; as of December 1) as in Schleswig-Holstein (153). In bars and clubs, however, incidence appears to remain a factor. From a value of 350 they have to close. Interesting: In order to also close bars and pubs, the Infection Protection Act would have to be changed. The background to this is the epidemic situation of national importance that has expired. It is now planned to “prohibit the operation of catering facilities as long as the focus of these facilities is on the food industry”.
In addition, strict contact restrictions should apply to unvaccinated people. From now on, a maximum of two households should be allowed to meet. Vaccinated and convalescent people as well as children up to 14 years of age should be exempt from this. In schools, the decision-makers are apparently planning a mask requirement for all grades.
Corona summit: restrictions on major events planned
Reducing contacts also includes restricting major events. The discussion is loud image an upper limit of 5000 people for outdoor events. For soccer games, a maximum limit of 30 percent of the occupancy or a maximum of 10,000 spectators applies. Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder recently called for the ghost games to return: “We are trying to implement this again across Germany, but in Bavaria we would also go it alone.”
One topic that has recently picked up speed is the compulsory vaccination. The decision paper should primarily deal with facility-related vaccination requirements, such as in geriatric care facilities and hospitals. The Bundestag should then decide on a general vaccination requirement. The designated new Justice Minister Marco Buschmann (FDP) had recently made a similar statement.
