Lots of news coming for Resident Evil fans
In view of Halloween, Capcom will have seven different ads related to Resident Evil to share to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series. Five of these are scheduled for 21 and 22 October 2021, another on 25 October 2021, and then the last on 29 October 2021. Two of these reveal instead have already been shown.
The first was a Twitter contest that allowed entrants to win Resident Evil-branded apparel and items, while the other simply reminds fans of the upcoming Resident Evil 4 VR port for Oculus Quest 2. We currently don’t know if the other seven announcements will all be of this magnitude or if Capcom has interesting goodies in store for fans. It must be remembered that the Resident Evil brand covers more than just games now, as there is a movie series, an anime, a book series, and a clothing and merchandising line. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that all seven of these ads are about new video games.
However, there are likely to be one or two exciting revelations. Possibilities include the presentation of the Resident Evil Village DLC, which is confirmed to be in the works. There have also been rumors of PS5 updates for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, while there is also the possibility that Capcom will bring the original PS1 titles back to modern systems.
We just have to wait for new details from Capcom with this celebration that will last throughout the month of October.
