Irkutsk rescuers evacuated the instructor in a pre-comatose state, who, while escorting climbing camps, suddenly felt unwell. It is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Baikal Search and Rescue Detachment (BPSO).
According to rescuers, one of the instructors, a resident of Irkutsk born in 1981, reported a deterioration in health during a hike on the Kyngarga River in Buryatia. The information was received on Wednesday evening, October 27. In the morning, to evacuate the victim from Irkutsk, a helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations took off together with a group of BPSO rescuers and doctors. It is reported that the man was referred to the doctor in a pre-comatose hyperglycemic state.
Rescuers provided the first emergency aid to the man on the spot. Then he was hospitalized in serious condition.
At the end of September, a group of 19 climbers requested the help of rescuers due to worsening weather conditions while climbing Elbrus. The search for the missing was carried out at an altitude of over five thousand meters. Rescuers were hampered by squally winds, heavy snow, low temperatures and poor visibility. Five people were killed. 14 tourists were rescued, 11 of them were injured of varying severity and were hospitalized.
