Majakka tower house is the tallest private residential building in Finland.

Sprinklers were fired on the floors of the Majakka tower block in Kalasatama on Wednesday afternoon, the Helsinki Rescue Service informs on Twitter.

The rescue service is on site to investigate the situation. Traffic in the area is affected.

Majakka is a tower block completed in 2019 in connection with shopping center Red, which is the tallest private residential building in Finland. The building has 35 floors and rises to a height of about 134 meters.

The sprinkler system is an automatic fire extinguishing system that starts extinguishing the fire by spraying water on the fire site and at the same time sends a fire alarm to the emergency center.
