It sounds like the script of the next one Need for Speed or something like that, but this turns out to be really set in Spain. There, drivers get behind the wheel of rented Audi RS 6s to perform breakneck feats. For gross amounts, bets are then made on the outcome of these regions.
Last week an Audi RS 6 crashed into a guardrail in Seville, Spain after a chase with police. A 21-year-old English driver was behind the wheel. You would soon think it was a stolen car, but the Audi was just rented in Spain.
But there is more to it than an isolated incident. “According to the first data from this investigation, the British driver is said to be part of a group of young people committed to recreating the scenes of a well-known car racing video game in real life,” the Spanish news outlet reported. It’s a sport
Apparently these guys rent Audi RS 6’s in Marbella to do things like flee from the police or crash into traffic at high speed. Gross sums would be bet on the run-out of the maneuvers.
A few days earlier, another rental Audi RS 6 fled from police near Marbella – even rambling into a patrol car. There seems to be a pattern. It is not yet known what actions the Spanish police intend to take against the group.
