An important reference in Mexican hunting died after being rammed by a buffalo in the city of Gualeguaychú, in Argentina.
The incident occurred last Friday, but they were finally able to watch over him on Sunday when his family arrived in Argentina. Now, they wait to transfer his ashes back to Mexico.

Mario Alberto Canales Najjar was 64 years old and was the president of the Mexican Hunting Federation AC He had traveled to the country with a group of companions to practice hunting activities.
On October 7, while hunting in a field called Punta Caballo, located on the South Uruguay Coast, he lost his life.
Both his wife and two children traveled to say goodbye. The wake took place in Previsora Gualeguaychú, and last Monday he was cremated. Only the necessary documentation remains to be able to make the transfer to Mexico.

How did the events happen?
At the time of the incident, Canales Najjar was with a contingent of three Mexican citizens. “For reasons that are trying to be established, the man was attacked by a large buffalo thatafter several bumps, caused him serious injuries that caused his death in the same field, “said police sources.
The hunting area chosen by the Mexicans has no telephone signal and is located 50 kilometers south of Gualeguaychú. The victim and his guide went out in search of buffalo, while the rest of the team chose to follow other animals.
Behind a tree and about 30 meters away from his target, he shot the over a ton buffalo, which reacted in the worst way. Although he was wounded, he attacked the hunter several times until the guide intervened and killed him.

Due to the inaccessibility of the place, it was difficult for the ambulance to enter. So, they had to transport him in a private van. The patient, however, no longer had vital signs.
The forensic authorities determined that he had multiple sternum and rib fractures, as well as retroperitoneal hematomas, for which they defined that he died of neurogenic shock.
In addition to hunting, Canales Najjar was a lawyer. He had studied law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and founded the Canales Najjar y Asociados law firm in Mexico City.

The Mexican Federation of Hunting AC and other groups linked to this activity regretted what happened. The organization that Canales Najjar presided over communicated: “Enormous sadness for the departure of a great man and a much better friend.”
In addition, they described him as “a tireless conversationalist and fighter for the rights of hunters.” And they added: “His generous friendship leaves us an indelible mark.”
