It puts 30,000 seats on sale this Wednesday and the service comes into operation on Tuesday 20
A promotional campaign by Renfe will accompany the commissioning of the AVE between Murcia and Madrid, with tickets at 19 euros, the railway company reported on Monday. This campaign will be launched this Wednesday with 30,000 seats.
This promotional campaign, with cheap tickets, is common whenever a high-speed line is put into circulation, and the case of Murcia will not be an exception. The date of entry into operation is already official and will be Tuesday the 20th, and the inauguration, the day before, as LA VERDAD has been reporting.
Renfe will offer four daily AVE frequencies in each direction between the Region of Murcia and Madrid. Half of the trains will stop at all the stations along the route, including Alicante, which will lengthen the travel time by almost three and a half hours. The other two frequencies will have stops in Orihuela and Elche, with a duration of 2 hours and 45 minutes.
The promotional campaign will last 15 days
Tickets at 19 euros in standard class will be available between December 14 and 29 for travel until December 2023.
In addition, the 4 Intercity trains are maintained, 2 in each direction, between Murcia and Albacete, which due to the works carried out by Adif are carried out by road, with a connection with AVE Albacete-Madrid and the weekend Intercity service between Águilas- Murcia and Madrid.
Renfe announced its commitment to punctuality on AVE trains, with refunds of 50% of the ticket amount for delays between 15 and 30 minutes and 100% for delays of more than 30 minutes.
Passengers on AVE trains running on the Murcia-Madrid line will have two classes, standard and comfort, which have all the services on land and on board that Renfe offers to AVE customers.
Avant service with Alicante
Internally, the schedules of the new Avant Service between Murcia and Alicante have also been distributed, with units equipped with 104 material, which will circulate on the new high-speed platform.
There will be eight frequencies in each direction, six of which will work every day of the week. Two others will do it every working day, including those that leave Murcia at 6:40 and 15:00, more closely linked to users’ work and study hours.
The duration of the trip will be around 50 minutes, with a considerable saving of time compared to the current one. The intermediate stops will be those of Beniel, Orihuela, Callosa de Segura-Cox and Elche, according to the data to which LA VERDAD has had access, although they are not officially confirmed.
Renfe will maintain part of the other frequencies of the diesel automotive trains that provide the Cercanías service between Murcia and Alicante, which will continue to run along part of the old route, with stops in Crevillente, Elche Parque, Elche Carrús, Torrellano and San Gabriel.
