Renault has become the first car manufacturer to offer the application Waze directly integrated into the multimedia system of its models. This was announced by the Losanga company itself, which explained how the integration of Waze in the OpenR LinK multimedia system with integrated Google of the new Austral and Megane E-Tech Electric offers greater comfort and safety to motorists, given that the latter will be able to access , a world premiere, to all the features of the app directly from the vertical 12″ displaywithout therefore going through the smartphone.
“Renault is the first car brand to offer Waze directly on the vehicle’s multimedia display, without activating the smartphone – commented Jerome Seror, Digital Customer Experience Director of Renault – We are convinced that the many Waze users will appreciate this news when they take the wheel of Nuovo Austral or Megane E-Tech Electric. Clearly this is all part of our strategy which consists in offering customers an intuitive, immersive and connected driving experience”. In fact, the users of Waze mentioned by Seror are very numerous: it is in fact a navigation application widely used by motorists, with 20 million active users per month in France alone. To use it directly on board Renault vehicles, customers will only have to download and install on the vehicle the Waze app for OpenR Link and then create a new Waze account (or of course alternatively use an existing one).
“Now that more and more Waze users are choosing onboard platforms and that these technologies continue to evolve, it is important to offer the best driving experiences – added Aron Di Castro, Director of Marketing and Partnerships of Waze – That is why we are delighted and proud to announce our partnership with Renault. The integration of routes, navigation and real-time alerts from Waze on the display of new generation Renault vehicles offers a smoother and simpler driving experience. We can’t wait to offer this unprecedented driving experience to as many users as possible worldwide in 2023“.
