The automotive sector is going through a crucial transformation phase, driven by the need to reduce environmental impact and promote a more sustainable management of resources. In this context, Groupe Renault and SUEZ have decided to further consolidate their collaboration by signing new strategic agreements that aim to support the ecological transition of the automotive sector. The idea of both companies is to promote a circular economy model, which in this case materializes in the company The Future Is NEUTRAL.
Shared objectives and benefits
The main objective of this partnership is twofold: on the one hand, to support the various players in the automotive sector in reducing the impact on natural resources; on the other, anticipate regulatory changes that require a greater use of recycled materials. Through this initiative, Renault and SUEZ intend to facilitate the procurement of components from the circular economy, thus ensuring greater sustainability and less dependence on virgin resources. The synergy between Groupe Renault and SUEZ offers several advantages: it allows you to optimize the recycling and valorisation processes of metal waste, improving operational efficiency and reducing costs, and helps raise awareness throughout the automotive sector of the importance of sustainability and recycling, thus promoting a corporate culture oriented towards environmental responsibility.
Renault-SUEZ agreement
Within this agreement, Renault offers complete coverage of the automotive value chain, throughout the vehicle’s life cycle, from design to end-of-life, through the use phase; its eco-design experience in the automotive industry, but also the skills of its employees, engaged in the sector and specially trained; and the availability of industrial capacities at the Flins Refactory, France, the first European circular economy plant dedicated to mobility, with a great variety of activities. For its part, however, SUEZ makes its skills available in car recycling, from upstream to downstream; its experience in automotive waste management, including collection, massification, selection and recovery of materials; and its ability to produce homogeneous streams of recycled raw materials on an industrial scale for customers.
The Future Is NEUTRAL
After these new strategic agreements, SUEZ acquires a 20% stake in the capital of The Future Is Neutral, alongside the Renault Group, now a co-shareholder with a percentage of 80%. Furthermore, with this operation, The Future Is NEUTRAL can count on a contribution of 140 million euros by the two shareholders, to accelerate and develop its activities for the benefit of the entire European automotive industry.
