The creation of an industrial ecosystem focused on the manufacture of electric and connected vehicles, bringing together 31 initiatives around decarbonisation, connectivity and mobility as a service, are the objectives contemplated in Renault’s proposal for PERTE VEC. Up to 50 companies have joined Renault to launch the program that contemplates the creation of an industrial ecosystem focused on the manufacture of electric vehicles, as well as other initiatives that revolve around decarbonisation and the improvement of connectivity and mobility in the sector.
The project has been presented by
Renault Spain within the call for the Strategic Project for Recovery and Economic Transformation (Perte) for the electric and connected vehicle. Once the request is approved by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, it will be launched, with the idea that it will end in June 2025.
From Renault they have highlighted that its implementation will allow to cover the integral transformation of the value chain, since it brings together a group of companies that cover the entire industrial ecosystem, from technology companies to vehicle or battery manufacturers.
Most of these companies (70%) are small and medium-sized companies and their activity takes place in ten autonomous communities (Castilla y León, the Basque Country, Madrid, Andalusia, Galicia, Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia and Aragón).
“This project will make Spain a leader in sustainable and connected mobility,” they have pointed out from Renault. “This is a very complete project, as it brings together all the knowledge for the manufacture of electric and connected vehicles in a sustainable and cyber-secure way,” said the president and general manager of Renault Spain, José Vicente de los Mozos.
The 31 initiatives that make up the project are structured around three axes: decarbonisation, connectivity and mobility as a service.
In the field of decarbonisation, initiatives related to hydrogen or carbon-neutral fuels are included. With regard to connectivity, different initiatives related to digitization, cybersecurity or the development of electronic vehicle platforms will be addressed. Regarding the axis of mobility as a service, new technologies will be developed to provide vehicles with innovative functionalities.
The deadline to submit applications for the Part of the vehicle has recently been extended until next June 3.
