Renault celebrates the production of 4 million Kangoos

So far, 4 million Kangoo models have been produced in the French Maubeuge plant: over 400 Kangoos are assembled on the production line per day.

Every 90 seconds a new Kangoo comes out. A pioneering and emblematic model of its times, it was an immediate love at first sight and remained in the hearts of several generations. In the version for private customers or as a commercial vehicle for retailers, artisans and fleets, it has had an extraordinary destiny and success that has made it an icon of the segment. The exciting history of Kangoo begins in the 1990s, when Renault entrusted the production of this vehicle to the Maubeuge plant, with an investment of over 500 million euros to modernize the plants. In 2002, the milestone of one million Kangoos produced in the Maubeuge plant was reached. Five years later, in 2007, Kangoo celebrates two million units made in this legendary factory.

In 2011, Renault launches the electric version of Kangoo aMaubeuge and start a new revolution on the automotive market. Kangoo ZE (where ZE stands for “zero emissions”) becomes the first 100% electric vehicle obtain the prestigious title of International Van Of The Year, also creating the electric van segment. Since then, 90,000 units have been produced at the Maubeuge plant, making Renault one of the key players in the electric commercial vehicle market in Europe. If we add the electric vehicles produced for partners, the figure rises to 100,000 units.
