If any of you have never heard of the Renault Avantime there is nothing to worry about. Only two years on the market and just 8,557 units sold show how this model was one of the biggest flops of the French carmaker in the modern era. Despite having a unique design of its kind, which mixed the features of a coupe with those of a minivan, the Avantime did not convince the public and so the transalpine brand decided to eliminate it from the range. Yet almost 20 years after its production exit, this Renault model has taken a small revenge, proving to be a great interpreter of the Moose test.
Put to the rope, if we can say so, by the Spanish magazine KM77, an example of Renault Avantime was subjected to the dreaded test of agility. Clearly this is not a car designed for performance with supercar handling, yet the Avantime has been able to have its say, albeit with its own limits. In the first attempt of the moose test, Renault manages to whiz between the cones at 69 km / h without any difficulty, increasing in the second attempt up to 71 km / h before encountering the first difficulties. In this case the car started to slide with the rear end, hitting some cones. However, there is a very interesting fact to note: the driver was able to successfully complete the test at 73 km / h, a more than remarkable result considering that the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo completed a clean lap. in the test at 74 km / h.
